The project, running from June to August, was the pilot version of a big concept called The ()
SPACE which is dedicated to encouraging social development processes. The core idea is to
involve high school students in solving business problems through elaborating and designing
solutions for related social problems. They are inspired by collaborating with high level
business professionals and transfer different perspectives to each other.
The challenge of my group was to develop a meeting place for the locals in Bergsjön, Göteborg
with our client Familjebostäder, a non-profit municipal housing organization in Sweden.
I gave directions and professional support for the working process.
The ( ) Space Project has been continuously operating since this first episode.

We organized and facilitated many learning-by-doing workshops. We tried to be open to sample many techniques and workflows from different fields. We also wanted to let new discoveries happen which I believe is crucial for young people who are just before making career choices. By working in the field we’ve connected people, organizations, and built lasting relationships. The whole process was a great adventure followed by the design thinking process, dedicated to giving helpful support by providing extensive challenge, residential research findings and ideas for problem solving. It was an undoubtedly human-centered, but even more so nature-centered process as we were so connected with the nature and the ‘ecosystem’ of beautiful Bergsjön.
